Donald Trump Claims The Boy Scouts Told Him He Made “Greatest Speech Ever,” The Scouts Say He’s LYING

According to President Trump, the Boy Scouts loved his speech. In the transcript of an interview with the Wall Street Journal that was leaked on Tuesday, Trump claimed that he only got positive responses from his bizarre campaign-like speech. When the WSJ pointed out there was a lot of mixed reactions to his statements, Trump double downed:
“And I got a call from the head of the Boy Scouts saying it was the greatest speech that was ever made to them, and they were very thankful. So there was — there was no mix.”

The response wasn’t actually as mixed as the WSJ gave the President credit for—but it wasn’t received well either. In fact, it was so bad that the Boy Scouts apologized for the president’s hate-filled diatribe. Michael Surbaugh, the organization’s chief executive, offered his “sincere apologies to those in our Scouting family who were offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the jamboree,” and that “we have steadfastly remained non-partisan and refused to comment on political matters. We sincerely regret that politics were inserted into the Scouting program.”

Now, because the president is lying about the Boy Scouts, the organization had to give a statement saying that they never said such things to Trump, and that “The Chief Scout Executive’s message to the Scouting community speaks for itself.” Watch the clip from CNN below.

Trump is lying about the Boy Scouts. Did President Obama ever do that?
