The Federal Election Commission (FEC) Says That Donald Trump Is A Liar, He Paid Actors To Attend Campaign Events

Trump’s first campaign event certainly looked like he had a lot of supporters happy to see him—but that’s only because they were paid to act that way, as the Federal Election Commission concluded. According to the FEC:

“In this matter, the available information indicates that the [Trump campaign] retained Gotham [Government Relations], as an event consultant, and Gotham in turn, subcontracted with Extra Mile to provide extra administrative support at Trump’s announcement, including the provision of at least some of the rally crowd.”

Extra Mile is a New York casting agency.

For his entire campaign, Trump denied that he had any actors at his events, and even accused his opponents of doing the same—and sending actors to protest at his rallies. He’s still hiring actors even now—only instead of professional actors, he’s using White House staffers to cheer every time he attacks the media.

But Trump was never punished by the FEC because he eventually disclosed the payment for the actors. That doesn’t excuse that Trump lied about the actors from the beginning.
