President Donald Trump on Saturday praised his daughter Ivanka Trump and said, “If she weren’t my daughter it would be so much easier for her”. Ivanka Trump, who is the head of a female entrepreneurship project, will receive $50 million from White House as a fund for the project.
The President even thanked Ivanka at the G20 summit for being “a forceful advocate for landmark women entrepreneurs.” However, the irony is that the comment is coming from a misogynist businessman-turned-politician.
Trump claims that his own status as a global lightning rod has raised roadblocks for her that might not be there otherwise. He said, “If she weren’t my daughter it would be so much easier for her,’ the president said. ‘It might be the only bad thing she has going, if you want to know the truth.”
Trump administration will be allocating $50 million from the pot of government money that now surpasses $300 million, which is three times its original goal, claims World Bank President Jim Kim.
Kim had forecasted that a 10-to-one expansion of the World Bank-managed fund from the private sector, making more than $3 billion available to subsidize women’s business ventures worldwide.
Trump said the outcome will be the biggest lead of its kind in history. “I think there’s really nothing even close,” he declared.
“This has been a really difficult one but once it got going – it was about women, and it just took off beyond what anybody thought,” Trump added.
The $50 million contribution from the U.S. puts America at ‘the highest donor level,’ according to a White House official.
