One Of Trump’s Dumbest Tweets May Have Just Gotten Him In Legal Trouble (TWEETS)

It looks like Donald Trump’s favorite hobby has just gotten him in some trouble – again.

Trump’s Twitter account has become a major source of anxiety for Americans (and the world) even before his presidency began. An endless source of humiliation and misinformation, it now looks like Trump will also be suffering for his awful behavior on social media.

Earlier today, Trump once again embarrassed the country with a misspelled tweet in which he said that Texas, after being devastated by Hurricane Harvey, was “heeling” fast. Trump wrote:

“Texas is heeling [sic] fast thanks to all of the great men & women who have been working so hard. But still, so much to do. Will be back tomorrow!”
While Trump’s loose grasp on vocabulary and the English language is enough to induce endless face-palms, it’s his habit of deleting tweets that is raising eyebrows.

A legal group that is currently suing the Trump Administration accurately predicted that Trump would delete his miswritten tweet – and now that he has, there could be legal trouble ahead as he might have violated the laws regarding federal record keeping.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington pointed out:

It didn’t take long before CREW had their answer:

CREW has gone after Trump and his Twitter nonsense multiple times now. In June, CREW and the National Security Archive sued the Trump administration for the same offense.

CREW has a case here. Trump, who refuses to use the official @POTUS Twitter account regularly, still insists of making presidential announcements and remarks over social media, particularly his personal account @realDonaldTrump. Trump’s former press secretary, Sean Spicer, had even stated at one point that Trump’s tweets from his personal Twitter account should be taken as official White House statements. It is because of those circumstances that Trump’s tweets should be preserved communications – and deleting them is off limits.
