On Monday, the president returned to Washington, D.C., from his seventeen day so-called “working vacation” at his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. While on vacation, he had a lot of time to indulge in one of his favorite pastimes — tweeting — and he kept up the pace, for now at least, upon leaving New Jersey.
Late Monday night, he took to the social media platform with a bizarre half-baked message for the world, writing:
‘Feels good to be home after seven months, but the White House is very special, there is no place like it… and the U.S. is really my home!’
Trump is currently in New York City at Trump Tower, having taken to Twitter earlier Monday to describe his New York excursion as being for the purposes of “meetings on military purchases and trade.”
His attempt at some kind of connection with the whole of America through writing that the “U.S. is really my home” is no doubt not going to exactly come across as he meant it to. Donald Trump is a man simultaneously obsessed with his public image and too incompetent to actually do anything to fix it.
When Trump arrived in New York City Monday, he was met with unsurprising protests, and this and other topics occupied replies to the president’s latest tweet.
